2021 was a dry and warm year. With a relatively warm winter with little precipitation, it cooled down a little in spring, which delayed budding somewhat. Except for some rain in May during flowering, it continued dry. March and June were particularly dry and a heatwave began in June. July and August had relatively higher rainfall. For the harvest in mid to late September, we mostly had dry, very sunny weather. This dryness and above-average warm weather continued until the end of the year.
Made from old vines in Donnerskirchen, Leithaberg, on clay and shale and schist soils. Semi-carbonic whole-cluster maceration for seven days, then fermentation in steel tank and aging for nearly 2 years in used barrels. 544 bottles produced.
