Dear Vinifero friends,
On Saturday 4. November our friend Mateo will take over the hotplates at the Winebar and dish up some real tasty pintxos for the evening.
But what are pintxos, some might wonder?!
They are the Basque equivalent of what is generally referred as a tapa in the rest of Spain. Pintxos are small snacks, typically eaten in bars and they normally accompany a glass of wine and long chats with friends. For this reason, Pintxos have a strong socialising component and they are regarded as a cornerstone of local culture and society.
Mateo is the best person to take us onto this Pintxos discovery as he worked for over a year in a top restaurant in San Sebastian. He has now spent the last few years in France and Austria, sharpening his winegrowing and winemaking skills, as well as his kitchen equipment in the hottest Heurige of Austria.
So, what shall we expect tomorrow? Tomorrow's pintxos are Basque inspired but we adapted them to our philosophy at Vinifero, so they will all be vegetarian.
And for those who like to finish on a sweet note, there will be a surprise, certainly fitting to the themed menu!!
Of course, all along, before and after, there will be plenty of natural wines to wash the pintxos down and amplify the joy!
So inspired by this culture, let's turn the winebar into a Basque-inspired buzzing corner of Vienna and nibble away the night :)
Come plentiful with hunger and thirst, we will have a wonderful night!
