With less than a total of 40ha planted in Austria, Furmint is a minor grape in Austria, yet producing wines of great definition and purity. Gottfried has early recognised its potential, and counts now a good surface in his vineyards. Furmint is a wine of great structure, supported by a backbone of acidity and particularly good in a time of global warming, thanks to its characteristic of maintaing moderate sugar content. The wine is filled with citrus notes, lemon peel and a hint of creaminess thanks to the oak ageing. The finish is long and zingy, showing elegance and precision, a wine that can age well if your resist the temptation of drinking it!
