Pinot Blanc from the Buchertberg – Gottfried’s most iconic vineyard – makes Sand & Kalk, from a south-facing hill. The wine is fermented in 600-liter barrels, with about 50% of the wood coming from their own forest, and is bottled after one year on the lees. It presents a core of stone fruit with a creamier body on the palate, balanced by fresh acidity and a mineral finish. It is best enjoyed chilled, at around 12°C, and pairs especially well with spicy flavors like chili and ginger.
