Siebena is the last wine from the experimental line of Piriwe winery, made now of seven wines in total, each one named with its own ordinal numeral adjective in the dialectal version. It is a Rosé Pet Nat made from Roesler, a variety resulting from a crossing of Zweigelt and Blaufrankisch, as well as some Piwi genetics. This grape was developed in the 70's to favour organic farming, because of its resistance to fungal diseases. Another special characteristic is that the flesh of the berries is also red, resulting in a deeper colour even when directly pressed, like in this case.
