Dear Vinifero-Friends,

Thanks to everyone who joined our lovelyvintage market on Sunday, we can not wait to announce a third edition!

One last event we prepared for you this month:

  • On Saturday 20th July we're organizing a BaoZi Feast paired with a fun and fresh selection of newly arrived Djuce cans and pouches à la picknick style!
Claire freshly back from her Beijing trip will prepare homemade BaoZi following her granny's recipe to let you taste authentic Chinese street food.

Starting at 6PM, no reservations needed. First come, first serve
    (Location: Karmeliterplatz 2).

Now to this current week's tasting...

We are starting twith Opera Rosé 2023 from Naboso. This wonderful cuvée from Nadja and Andrej, made of Blaufränkisch, Riesling and St. Laurent is as fragrant as elegant. Newly released this year, it's the second sparkling wine that became part of their established portfolio, after the success of the Opera sparkling white. A young rosé, classy and smooth - truly a brut nature par excellence!

Mas Gomà is a family affair from 5 generations. Based in Les Cabanyes and within the borders of Penedes Appellation, they are one hour south east from Barcelona. The estate built in 1724 offers 22 hectares of limestone and clay, where Xarello, Macabeu, Parellada and Grenache are growing. Tiet Pere 2022 is a fresh and zesty aromatic white wine made of Xarel-lo with 20 days skin contact and and directly pressed Malvasia de Sitges from a single 70-year-old vineyard, fermented in a cement tank on fine lees for additional 6 month.

Not far from the Czech border in the Weinviertel, Markus is experimenting with the main natives grapes of his region. Wether its a fresh grüner veltliner, a long maceration, years of aging in the barrique… Or like Schmalisse, a Gemischter Satz rosé of two vintages were Blauer Portugieser and Zweigelt are joining Grüner Veltliner, the main protagonist in Sonntag geschlossen cellar. Given the small volume produced, this wine is a blend of mainly 2022, with a small addition of 2023, with the two years finding together great balance with finesse and precision. Onion skin in colour and freshly saline, expect a mineral wine with delicate fruit and floral nuances. One for the table indeed!

In Toscana now with the winery Ranchelle, where Christoph Fischer decided to rediscover natives grapes and plant them in his 3-hectare vineyard. Between the extinct volcano Monte Amiata and the sea around Monte Argentario. It offers only a small selection purely low intervention wines, which express the fusion of ancient grape varieties grown in the various vineyards of this beautiful land. Millocchio Bianco 2022 is an assemblage of several separate fermentation of Ansonica, Procanico and Verdello grapes done by spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, long maceration on the skins. The wines are aged for 10 months in 500 liter used oak barrels, and another 6 months in bottles before leaving the cellar.

For a special final place we decided to go for a fun wine from the famous village Banyuls, in the french Catalunya. Tutti Frutti Ananas is a project by several winemakers who decided to join forces to create a mutual line up, where each of them is entrusted with a specific task. The result speak for themselves, the wines are always sold out before they can be bottled! Morango 2022 is a red cuvée of Syrah, Grenache Noir, Carignan and Mourvèdre.
While light on it's feet, the flavors are resolutely Mediterranean with sun kissed fruits, seasoned gently with savory notes of sea salt and garrigue.

We look forward to share those delicious wines with you at Karmeliterplatz!
