Thanks for joining on our first edition of "natty wine and vintage clothing" this Sunday! Since we all had such a good time, we decided to make it a monthly event. Stay tuned for our next Vintage market and cakes event <3
One last event we prepared for you this month:
Now to this current week's tasting...
We start locally in Vienna, 21st district. Weinbau Sackl is dedicating 1,5 hectares to natural wine in Bimsamberg. Blanc de Blancs is made of 100% pinot blanc, vinified with zéro dosage. This elegant sekt is refreshing with a crispy acidity and offers a nice expression of the Viennese terroir.
We continue in Burgenland with Katrin Lautner. She decided to start her own project finding a few vineyards around Neckenmarkt (Mittelburgenland) and further north in Jois. Her wines, named after different wild flowers, are becoming more and more expressive, thanks to a growing understanding of variety and soils. Wiesenmargerite 2022 is made of 100% Grüner Veltliner, pressed after some time on the skin and then left for rest 11 months in small barrels. A fruity wine with a lot of spicy notes.
New in Vinifero!
In the province of Avellino, Campania Andrea and Gianmarco create wines of the typical grapes of this beautiful area: Greco, Coda di Volpe, Falanghina and Aglianico. They pursue the Organic Forest philosophy, as close as possible to nature’s way - the vineyards are rich of spontaneous grass, no herbicides or pesticides are used, and the works are done completely by hand. No sulphites in the wine making process. Origine 2022 is a beautiful zesty orange wine made from Gewürztraminer. You’ll find citrus notes, peachy and a balance between saltiness and crispy acidity.
I Mandorli, located in Toscana is a small company constantly evolving. The terroir is both influenced by the sea and forests. Aleato 2021 is a rosé blend made of Aleatico and Sangiovese, spontaneous fermentation and then left in a concrete tank to rest for 8 months. The nose is expressed with hints of blackberries, ripe cherries and notes of Mediterranean scrub. The palate reveals itself to be intense, deep and with good freshness.
Last but not least, a vinifero special: Tredici Prode 2022. Close to Pisa, Gli Archi cultivate six hectares of vineyards and five hectares of olive groves, on the hills bordering Pisa and the Arno river. Two horses have recently been added to the family to help with the tilling of the land and creating general good cheer.
Tredici Prode is made from grapes of the old vineyards of Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
A beautiful smooth finish for this week's tasting round!
