There is no need to talk about Sangiovese, but Pugnitello, which sounds unfamiliar to many, has actually been found in Tuscany for centuries as a rare grape variety, used mainly in blends. Fermentation and ageing for one year take place in amphorae, which impart ethereal notes and make the wine more serious and intriguing.
