Tasting 14th of September

on September 14, 2023
Dear Vinifero-Friends,

After a well deserved summer break, the team Vinifero is back at Karmeliterplatz! We start the season with a tasting on Thursday 14/09 from 16h on.

On sunday 17th of September we will join forces with our friends from GGUSTO at Heuer am Karlsplatz and pour wine to celebrate the Harvest! Gianluca will cook delicious italian street food, and we will serve tasty wine from Demijohn.

Now to the current week...

As summer isn't really over yet, we will pour first Pinot Brut, a 100% pinot noir, white pressed from Scherer & Zimmer. The winery, located in Bad Krozingen, Baden, offers 2ha of vineyards where our winemakers love to experiment! Pinot Brut is a refreshing sparkling wine with a nice acidity and stoned fruits aromas.

The second wine comes from Burgenland, in the famous town of Gols. Mike Muff works over 10 years now in biodynamic with passion and commitment. Succus white is a chardonnay and grüner veltliner, showing fine herbal notes, orange zest and mineral-salty hints, balanced with a fresh acidity. Easy going and funky!

Our third selected wine is no less than the great project: Tutti Frutti Ananas. In Banyuls, French Catalunya, three winemakers decided to join forces in a joint project, where each is entrusted with a specific task. The results speak for themselves, the wines are always sold out before they can be bottled! Nespola is an orange wine composed of vermentino and grenache blanc. The grapes were fermented for two weeks on the skin. This beautiful wine brings gentle tannin, the right amount of orange zest and spice.

In Gumpoldskirchen, the two partners in crime Anna and Zane a.k.a. Zum Pranger propose a sunny and colorful rosé composed of blauer portugieser and frühroter veltliner. Fresh and delicate, the perfect wine for the season transition we’re heading to.

The last bottle selected, Ciliegolo 2022, comes from the Maremma, a southern region of Tuscany. The winemaker Antonio Camillo turned this common grape into a gourmand and fresh wine. Macerated 15 days in a steel tank and aged in cement, this wine shows strong ripe red fruits aroma, soft tannins, all this paced by acidity and salt. Intense aroma of ripe red fruit and spices.

Here's to another wonderful evening of tasting at Karmeliterplatz!
