Grape varieties: Vermentino Nero, Sangiovese
Alcohol: 12%
Region: Vinci, Toscana
Winemaker: Claudia Furlan, Ivan Chirico
Rosato di Balenaia comes from young vines planted on terraces 500 metres above sea level in the hills above Vinci. The wine spends one night on the skins, then ferments in terracotta amphorae and is aged in steel and demijohns.
Vermentino Nero is a rare grape variety that Ivan and Claudia selected in the Apuan Alps. The spicy and vegetal notes come from this grape, while Sangiovese brings freshness and sapidity.
