Valpolicella Superiore is one of the most straighforward, drinkable and versatile reds to be found in Italy. And Musella's version is certainly no exception. After a maceration on skins of about 15 days with periodical pumping over, the liquid is racked and transferred partly in large casks and partly in cement, for a period of twelve months. From Corvina and Corvinone grapes, with a small part of Rondinella and Barbera, it shows an archetypal ruby red color. The unmistakably fruity and almost sweet scents of this blend, along with notes of dried flowers, are counterpointed by a juicy and crisp acidity and a tannic texture that bites just right.
