Il Farneto is a biodynamic winery in the heart of Emilia Romagna, in the hills south of Reggio Emilia. Alongside their Frisant and Lambruscos, Marzemino finds a place as a varietal expression. This variety, more commonly found in Trentino, is macerated for about 10 days in concrete, followed by a long two-year aging process in tonneaux and concrete. The bouquet reveals berry fruits and floral nuances, with a spicy dimension and a good amount of funk. Best served slightly chilled at around 15°C, it pairs beautifully with dishes featuring beets and mushrooms.
