Legionär is a muscular and bold version of Sauvignon Blanc, a variety which is usually appreciated for its fine and elegant traits. Here instead, we are dealing with a Herculean Sauvignon, which through skin fermentation in open vats and a subsequent aging in oak barrels, reaches unexplored sensory heights. The nose is characterized by an interplay of fruity and herbaceous notes, with smoky hints in the background. The palate is earthy and mineral, the smooth tannins embrace the tongue and give a general sense of silkiness. The good persistance leads to a long finish with flavors of stone fruit, leaving the sip a pleasant apricot note.
