Grape variety: Grüner Veltliner
Alcohol: 10%
Region: Krems, Niederösterreich
Winemaker: Christoph Hoch
Hollenburger is certainly not a typical Veltliner, but a natural version of the most representative Austrian grape, which succeeds in combining lightness, minimal elegance and balance of flavours. Uncommon is also the choice to blend wines from different vintages, creating a non-vintage dry white wine, a method normally used in the Champagne production. The result is a white wine of great quality, enriched by citrus aromas of lemon zest and lemongrass, with salty and smoky mineral touches in the background. The minerality is also confirmed in the mouth, bringing to light the influence of the alkaline and calcareous soil of the vineyard which gives the name to the wine.
