Grape variety: Grillo
Alcohol: 12%
Region: Marsala, Sicily
Winemaker: Antonino Barraco
Every year, Nino produces a small, exquisite batch of classic-method sparkling wines.
Harvested in 2020 and disgorged in December 2024, a long aging of 36 months on the lees follows gives complexity, depth, and finesse to the bubbles.
The first fermentation takes place in steel, while the secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle after one year, using must from the following harvest. Dosage is made with Altogrado, the oxidative wines that are aged in barrels.
The fresh notes of exotic fruit, intertwined with candied citron and hints of baked bread crust are nicely mixed the Altogrado oxidative nuances.
