Ciliegiolo is the grape variety with the longest history in Maremma. Here, from the coast of the Uccellina Park to the slopes of the extinct volcano Monte Amiata, this grape variety, a close relative of Sangiovese, has been cultivated for centuries. When Ciliegiolo encounters special exposures and soils, it produces wines of greater depth and complexity, such as this Poggiomattio, which spends 18 months in tonneau and 6 months in the bottle. 700 bottles produced.
