With the Hoch, Schnabel passes the Blaufränkisch test with flying colors. Karl and Eva's interpretation of the most important red grape variety of Central Europe finds its strength in its essentiality. Blaufränkisch is a very demanding variety in terms of soil and vineyard site, and is especially famous for giving its best in the sunny Pannonian area between Austria and Hungary. In the 2021 Hoch, the characteristics of the rocky soil from which the vines draw their nourishment are faithfully reproduced: Pronounced minerality with a hint of saltiness on the finish, silky tannins, and hints of ripe fruit. The juice is then supported and chiseled by verticality, which gives further elegance and a sense of nobility to the wine.
