Kalkspitz is a sparkling wine made from a cuvee of Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt, whose minerality and acidity give an endless drinking flow. The production style requires grapes to be vinified separately and spontaneously fermented in large used casks and subsequently blended and bottled, while the second fermentation takes place in the bottle without sugars or yeasts but by adding the must of the current vintage. The foam is pleasant and not invasive, the mouthfeel is particularly dry with only one gram of residual sugar per liter. Endowed with outstanding freshness, it shows an elegant nose between lime peel, bitter orange and pear, with a subtle minty note.
